Watermelon Sorbet with Lime (Print Version)

Easy watermelon sorbet using three ingredients.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 4 cups seedless watermelon, cut into cubes (about 1 small watermelon)

→ Sweetener

02 - 1/3 cup granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)

→ Citrus

03 - 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

# How-To Steps:

01 - Spread the watermelon cubes out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 2-3 hours, or until the cubes are solid.
02 - In a high-powered blender or food processor, combine the frozen watermelon cubes, sugar (or honey), and fresh lime juice. Blend until perfectly smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
03 - Taste, and adjust sweetness or lime juice if desired.
04 - For a scoopable sorbet, transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or airtight container and freeze for another 1-2 hours until firm.
05 - Serve immediately for a softer texture, or scoop after fully frozen.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • This healthy treat is the perfect remedy for a hot summer day.
  • Its simplicity allows for a lot of creativity with flavors.
02 -
  • I once forgot to freeze the watermelon long enough and ended up with a slushy-like texture instead; it was a happy accident!
  • Adding mint leaves gives it a refreshing dimension I never expected; it elevates the sorbet to a whole new level!
03 -
  • Make sure your blender is powerful; it makes a world of difference in achieving that creamy texture.
  • For a boozy twist, a splash of vodka can keep your sorbet soft and add depth to the flavors.
